Shannon B. Nelson, CPA, Partner, joined Dermody, Burke & Brown in 1989. As an Audit Partner at the Firm, Shannon provides auditing and consulting to both not-for-profit and for-profit organizations, specializing in senior living and long-term healthcare organizations. She has extensive experience in consulting and advising clients on a variety of issues, including internal control studies and operational analysis. In January 2012, she was named the Administrative Partner of the Audit and Accounting Department for the firm. Shannon is a graduate of St. John Fisher College and is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Shannon serves on the board of the Women's Fund of Central New York and is past treasurer of the Carol Baldwin Breast Cancer Foundation.

Shannon is married, has one son and three daughters, and resides in Syracuse, New York.
