Beyond the Numbers: Pennie Gorney

Pennie Gorney joined Dermody, Burke & Brown in 2004. As the Director of Marketing, Pennie is responsible for leading the firm’s marketing and new business development efforts and is involved in the development of the firm’s overall strategic plan. She also consults and advises clients to help them identify, respond and secure market position. Pennie’s broad experience scans over 30 years and encompasses advertising, sales and developing integrated marketing programs for Fortune 500 companies regionally, nationally and internationally.

Pennie currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Business Development and Marketing Committee for Allinial Global and also serves on the Marketing Cabinet of the United Way of Central New York.  She is a Board Member of The Syracuse University Hardwood Club and the Kara Fund.  Pennie served on The Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Syracuse for over 10 years and received the President’s Award in 2006 and the National Service Award to Youth in 2007. She also received the Women in Business Award of Central NY in 2007.  Pennie is a graduate of Syracuse University.

As a guest lecturer at area colleges, Pennie has written articles for local, regional and national publications on a variety of subjects and was featured in the book Designing and Producing a Television Commercial, by Larry Elin and Alan Lapides.  She resides in Canastota with her husband Jim.
