Dermody, Burke & Brown Announce Employee Promotions

Dermody, Burke & Brown, CPAs, LLC, is pleased to announce that four employees have recently been promoted.

Chris Honda has been named Tax Manager.  Chris joined Dermody, Burke & Brown in 1996 and has 24 years of public accounting experience.  She works in the tax department preparing gift, estate, fiduciary and personal returns as well as fiduciary accountings.   Chris received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from SUNY at Buffalo.

Melissa Lanigan, CPA, has been named Tax Manager.  Melissa joined the firm in 2007.  Her responsibilities include providing comprehensive accounting, financial statement and tax compliance and planning services to closely-held family businesses, and their owners, in a variety of industries.  Melissa received her Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from Niagara University.

Travis Smith, CPA, MBA, has been named Audit Manager.  Travis joined Dermody, Burke & Brown in 2006.  He performs auditing, accounting and financial statement services for the firm and specializes in not-for-profit and governmental auditing.  Travis received his Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Business Administration Degree from SUNY at Oswego. 

Christie Novak, CPA, MSA, has been named Audit Senior Associate.  Christie joined the firm in 2011.  Her responsibilities include auditing, accounting, bookkeeping and financial statement services primarily for the not-for-profit and governmental industries. Christie received her Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Accounting Degree from Syracuse University.
