David de Silva Elected to Serve Second Term as Chairman of New York State Board for Public Accountancy

David de Silva, CPA and Partner at Dermody, Burke & Brown, CPAs, LLC, was elected to serve a second one-year term as Chairman of the New York State Board for Public Accountancy at its board meeting on April 23, 2014 in New York City.

The State Board of Public Accountancy advises the New York State Education Department and Board of Regents on licensing requirements, licensing examinations and practice issues, and Board members participate in licensure disciplinary and/or restoration and moral character proceedings.

David has over thirty years of experience providing accounting, auditing, and consulting services to a wide range of not-for-profit organizations.  He currently leads Dermody, Burke & Brown’s Not-for-Profit Specialty Niche that serves over 100 organizations in Upstate Central New York.  David is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and received the AICPA certificate of achievement in governmental and nonprofit accounting and auditing.
