Administrative Assistant

DERMODY, BURKE & BROWN, CPAS, LLC - SYRACUSE

Dermody, Burke & Brown is currently seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant for our tax processing department. A good candidate for the position must have the knowledge of principles and practices of organization, planning, records management, and general administration. This candidate must be a dependable team player with a professional attitude and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Process and assemble a variety of tax returns and financial statements utilizing paperless and paper processes.
  • Assist with project and due date management
  • Setup and maintain client files
  • Preparing Correspondence
  • Communicate with preparers, managers, supervisors, and partners
  • Provide various clerical duties such as printing, scanning, copying of documents, conference room setups. Processing of incoming and outgoing mail. Front desk support including answering phones, directing calls and greeting clients.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2 – 3 years of experience in a public accounting or other professional services firm
  • Familiarity with tax return processing, tax forms, e-filing a plus
  • Proficient skills in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of CCH ProSystem fx Tax software a plus
  • Familiarity with practice management tools such as document management, time & billing software, Adobe Acrobat, document scanning, etc. preferred.

Overtime required during busy seasons, which will include some evenings and Saturdays.
